Dedham field hockey shut out Ursuline Academy 3-0 on Thursday, Oct. 29, to close the regular season at 9-7-1, according to a post from Dedham High School Athletics on X.

The Marauders enter MIAA tournament play on a three-game winning streak. Dedham beat Mansfield 2-0 on Oct. 26, edged Medway 1-0 on Oct. 27 and then handled Ursuline in the finale, according to MaxPreps.

Thursday's result completed a season sweep of Ursuline. Dedham beat the Bears 5-1 at home on Sept. 22.

The Marauders' season opened with a 1-6 loss to Dover-Sherborn on Sept. 8 but steadied through October. Wins over Hopkinton (3-1), Holliston (4-0) and Ashland (4-3) pushed the record back toward .500. Losses to Norwood on Sept. 24, Medfield on Sept. 29 and mid-October defeats to Westwood, Mansfield, Dover-Sherborn and Foxborough kept things tight, but the three-game run to close the regular season put Dedham above .500.

The MIAA qualifies the top 32 power-rated teams in each division for the state tournament regardless of record, according to the Boston Herald. Dedham's specific ranking has not been released. The MIAA publishes final power rankings alongside tournament brackets for each sport.
