Needham voters will decide races for governor, U.S. Senate, Congress and Norfolk County district attorney on Nov. 3, along with a record-tying nine statewide ballot questions.

The League of Women Voters of Needham has published its Election 2026 Toolkit with deadlines and resources for the general election. Polls open at 7 a.m. and close at 8 p.m. on Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 3.

Early voting and registration deadlines

Early in-person voting runs Oct. 17 through Oct. 30. Specific hours and locations have not yet been posted. The League's toolkit directs voters to MassEarlyVote.com for updates as they become available.

The deadline to register to vote is Saturday, Oct. 24, whether by mail, online or in person. Residents can register at RegisterToVoteMA.com.

Voters who want a mail-in ballot must apply by 5 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 27, through MailMyBallotMA.com. Those who have already applied can track their ballot at TrackMyBallotMA.com.

Nine ballot questions

Nine questions will be on the ballot. That ties the state record for a single election year, last set in 1994. Campaigns on both sides of the questions had raised at least $10 million as of early September, the Boston Globe reported.

The League of Women Voters of Needham has posted a breakdown of all nine questions drawing on information from the Secretary of the Commonwealth, Tufts University and media sources. The League of Women Voters of Massachusetts also runs the VOTE411 nonpartisan candidate guide, where voters can read candidate statements for every office on the ballot.

Sept. 1 primary turnout

The Tuesday, Sept. 1 primary drew 7,650 Needham voters, a 30% turnout rate, according to the Needham Observer. Of those, 87% chose to vote in the Democratic primary.

Fourth District U.S. Rep. Jake Auchincloss won his Democratic primary with 82.3% of the local vote over challenger Jason Poulos. U.S. Sen. Ed Markey defeated Seth Moulton 52%–48% in Needham. In the Norfolk County district attorney race, Djuna Perkins of Dedham won the Democratic primary by about 2,500 votes statewide and will face independent Joseph Pagliarulo in November with no Republican in the race. Republican gubernatorial nominee Michael Minogue, who defeated Brian Shortsleeve 3-to-1 statewide, will face incumbent Democratic Gov. Maura Healey.
