The Needham Housing Authority (NHA) and its development corporation will hold a special virtual meeting Wednesday, Nov. 4, to take up a donation from the HOPEET Foundation.
The NHA Board of Commissioners will vote on whether to recommend that the NHA Development Corporation (NDC) accept the gift. The NDC board will then vote separately on accepting it, according to the meeting agenda posted on the town's website.
The one-hour meeting starts at 4 p.m. The agenda does not disclose the donation's dollar amount or its intended use.
NHA Commissioner Amanda Berman, who serves as board treasurer, and Executive Director Cheryl Gosmon are listed on the agenda to present information on the HOPEET Foundation donation. Teresa M. Santalucia, a partner at Klein Hornig LLP, will deliver a legal opinion on behalf of the NHA before commissioners vote on the recommendation. Chhaya Kotwani of Klein Hornig LLP is also listed as a guest.
The NDC portion of the agenda includes governance business: nominating officers for president, treasurer and clerk. The agenda lists the current NDC officers as Reginald C. Foster, president and director; James D. Flanagan, treasurer and director; and Cheryl Gosmon, clerk and director. Foster also chairs the NHA board.
The NHA board includes Vice Chair Jim Flanagan, Commissioner Geoff Engler and Resident Commissioner Janice Bennett. Michael Thorstad is deputy executive director.
The meeting is virtual only, with no option for in-person attendance. The NHA cited a state law signed by Gov. Maura Healey on March 28, 2025, extending remote Open Meeting Law provisions through June 30, 2027.
Residents can join via Zoom using meeting ID 834 3657 5647 starting at 4 p.m. Wednesday.
