Sharon/Dedham's football co-op rolled past Monument Mountain on Saturday, Oct. 24, bouncing back from a Week 6 loss to push its inaugural-season record to 5-2.

The two sources tracking the game disagree on the final score. A Dedham Athletics post on X reported a 48-14 victory, while MaxPreps listed the result as 44-6. Both confirmed the win and the 5-2 record.

Either way, the co-op dominated on the road in Great Barrington. The program has now scored at least 20 points in six of its seven games, according to MaxPreps, which lists 213 total points scored and 134 allowed through seven contests.

The lopsided result erased the sting of a 50-18 loss to Mashpee on Oct. 16 that had dropped the team to 4-2. After that defeat, Sharon head coach Ben Shuffain wrote on X that the team would "regroup and get ready for next weekend," according to coverage published Oct. 17 by TVL Sports.

Saturday's rebound continued a strong debut for the co-op, which launched this fall with 61 players drawn from both schools, as we reported Oct. 19. Senior quarterback Brady Shuffain, the coach's son, set a Sharon program record with five touchdown passes in a 40-18 win over Wareham earlier this season, according to the Boston Globe. Senior Joseph Seaman extended his career receiving touchdown record to 17 in a 28-14 win over Falmouth on Oct. 9, the Globe reported.

No individual statistics from Saturday's game were available at publication.

The result matters for the postseason. To qualify for the MIAA football state playoffs, a team must finish inside the top 16 in its division's power rankings, win at least three games and play at least seven, MassLive reported. Sharon/Dedham has cleared the win threshold. Its exact Division 7 power ranking after Saturday's result has not been published.

Two games remain. Sharon/Dedham hosts Case on Friday, Oct. 30, at 6 p.m., then closes the regular season against Rockland on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 26, at 10 a.m.
