The Needham Soccer Club's NSCCL 300 Jamboree returns to DeFazio Park on Oct. 24, with every community league team playing two games.
All four divisions of the Needham Soccer Club Community League (NSCCL) will take the field across Brock and Founders Field, according to the club's event page. The jamboree is an all-day affair, with games stretching into the evening under the lights at DeFazio Park, the club's primary outdoor venue in Needham.
The event dates to 2011, when the club launched it to celebrate the Town of Needham's Tercentennial, its 300th anniversary. It has run every fall since.
Schedule
The NSCCL fields four divisions: 3rd/4th-grade girls, 3rd/4th-grade boys, 5th/6th-grade girls and 5th/6th-grade boys. Approximate game windows for Oct. 24:
- 3rd/4th-grade girls: 1:30–3:25 p.m.
- 3rd/4th-grade boys: 3:15–5:45 p.m.
- 5th/6th grade (boys and girls): 5:50–7:45 p.m.
Each team plays two games within its division's window. Exact start times vary by team and are posted on the club's website and in the GotSport Mobile app under each team's calendar.
The 5th/6th-grade block combines boys and girls into a single evening window. The club's announcement does not specify whether they play on separate fields simultaneously or in a shared bracket.
What to expect
The club is encouraging players, coaches and families to stay between games and cheer on friends from other teams. The NSCCL draws from the broader Needham Soccer Club, which fields roughly 1,600 players on more than 100 teams each season. Nearly all are coached by parent volunteers.
The 3rd/4th-grade girls open play at 1:30 p.m., and the final 5th/6th-grade games are scheduled to wrap by 7:45 p.m. Families looking for specific matchups and field assignments can check the GotSport app or visit needhamsoccer.com ahead of Oct. 24.
