Dedham field hockey dropped a 3-1 road decision to Norwood on Thursday, Sept. 24, snapping a three-game winning streak and leaving the Marauders at 3-2-0 on the season.

Norwood's Mackenzie Conley led the Mustangs with a goal and an assist in the Tri-Valley League matchup, according to the Boston Herald's high school roundup. Dedham's goal scorer was not named in the Herald's report.

The loss was Dedham's second of the young season. Both defeats have come by multiple goals on the road. The Marauders opened Sept. 8 with a 6-1 loss at Dover-Sherborn before stringing together three straight wins: 4-0 at Bellingham on Sept. 10, 2-0 at Medway on Sept. 17 and 5-1 over Ursuline Academy on Sept. 22, according to MaxPreps.

Through five games, Dedham has outscored opponents 13-10. The Marauders have been dominant in their wins, posting three shutouts or near-shutouts while allowing just one combined goal across those three victories. Their two losses, though, have been lopsided. Dover-Sherborn scored six in the opener, and Norwood controlled the Sept. 24 contest from the Mustangs' home turf.

Norwood improved to 2-3-2 overall and 1-2-2 in league play with the victory, per MaxPreps.

The game was broadcast by Norwood Community Media. The TVL Sports Net roundup initially listed the final score as 3-0, but MaxPreps and the Herald both confirm the 3-1 result.
