Dedham residents can get a free flu shot at two clinics the town's Health Department is hosting in early October.

The first clinic runs Monday, Oct. 5, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Dedham Middle School. It is open to residents ages 5 and older. The town is encouraging pre-registration through its online calendar, though the posting does not say walk-ins will be turned away.

The second clinic is Wednesday, Oct. 7, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the American Legion, 155 Eastern Ave. That session is reserved for residents 65 and older, and appointments are required. Seniors must call the Dedham Council on Aging at 781-751-9495 to book a spot.

Both clinics are free regardless of insurance status, the town said in an Instagram post Monday, Sept. 28. The town also announced the clinics on its official X account the same day.

The clinics are organized by the Health Department, which operates under the Board of Health led by Chair Bernadette Chirokas, Vice-Chair Emma Reidy and Member Jessica Paulus.

The department ran a similar senior clinic at the American Legion in October 2025, also co-hosted with the Council on Aging. That session served residents 65 and older and offered a limited number of shots to those ages 55 to 65.

Katie Paciorkowski, the town's public health nurse, is the point of contact for questions about either clinic. She can be reached at [email protected] or 781-751-9224. Residents can also call the Health Department at 781-751-9220.
