Dedham's Planning Board and Select Board will jointly interview candidates for a Planning Board vacancy Wednesday, Sept. 23, one of two items added to the meeting agenda this week.
The amended agenda, updated Monday, Sept. 21, also added a discussion of next steps for the Legacy Boulevard Mixed-Use District Plan, including how to fill a vacancy on the plan's 11-member Advisory Committee. Planning Director Jeremy Rosenberger is listed as staff for both new items.
No public records identify which Planning Board seat is vacant or name the candidates being interviewed.
The meeting begins at 6 p.m. in the O'Brien Meeting Room on the third floor of Dedham Town Hall, 450 Washington St.
Bridge Street hearings resume
The board will continue public hearings on two proposed four-story, mixed-use buildings near the former Moseley's on the Charles site, both from 50 Bridge Street, LLC. The hearings were continued from Sept. 9.
The project at 50 Bridge St. calls for 63 residential units, 2,596 square feet of commercial space and 74 parking spaces. Across the street, the proposal at 49-57 Bridge St. would add 45 units, 3,427 square feet of commercial space and 68 parking spaces. Together, the two buildings would bring 108 new apartments to the corridor. Attorney Peter A. Zahka II represents both projects.
The board will also consider a request from 2-4 Bridge Street, LLC to modify canoe dock public access hours and parking at 2 Bridge St., a 26-unit condominium and restaurant development that received its approval Feb. 11. Attorney Kimberly Kroha represents the applicant.
Legacy Boulevard and other business
The Legacy Boulevard Mixed-Use District Plan is a state-funded study examining zoning and development guidelines for the Legacy Boulevard area, which the town describes as a regional economic center with zoning that dates to the 1990s. An advisory committee of 11 members, including Planning Board member James F. McGrail and Select Board member Michelle Persson Reilly, has met twice since June. The committee is expected to meet roughly six times before the process wraps up in June 2027.
Which seat is now vacant has not been disclosed. The town's Be Heard Dedham page, last updated Sept. 16, still lists all 11 members.
The agenda also includes a scoping session for a proposed 14-unit mixed-use development at 437 High St. and a review of the draft approval for a 14-unit condominium project at 359 Washington St. Attorney Keith P. Hampe represents both applicants. Rosenberger will lead a separate discussion on potential zoning amendments.
The meeting can be watched live on Dedham TV. Residents with questions can reach Rosenberger at the Planning Department at 781-751-9240.
